Meisner-Trained Sketch Comedian and Actor
Brian Patrick McGowan is an Actor, Writer, and Producer. Based in Los Angeles, he primarily works on comedic projects.
Origins
Born in Los Angeles, Brian moved around as a child until he found himself in Madison, WI. There, he acquired the Midwest values of hard work, education, and a tongue-in-cheek attitude.
Theatre
His first exposure to live theatre was a production of “Our Town” at the Overture Center for the Arts. From then on, he was hooked!
Shakespeare in Wisconsin
A boot-strap education in Shakespeare soon followed. Notable projects include “As You Like It”, “Titus Andronicus”, and “Henry IV, parts 1 and 2”
Meisner in Los Angeles
Craving a foundational education, Brian journeyed to Los Angeles and enrolled at the Playhouse West. There, he studied Meisner technique under Robert Carnegie and Holly Gagnier.
Team Get Sketch Done
Brian leaned on art to preserve his sanity during the pandemic. He founded “Team Get Sketch Done” with his friends and produced, wrote, and acted in a number of (COVID safe!) comedic short films.
Skewed View Sketches
This later evolved into ‘Skewed View Sketches’, tight-knit group of actors who have released hundreds of comedic shorts over the years and over a million views.
Worst Ever Productions
Brian works with a North Hollywood-based theatre group known as ‘Worst Ever Productions’. He frequently performs with them, bringing sitcom, sketch, and other comedic ideas to life onstage.
